Native American
Mission
The
Native American Mission group (NAM) has a young but growing mission
partnership with the Navajo Episcopal Diocese, especially St.
Christopher’s Mission in Bluff, Utah and its mission church in nearby
Montezuma Creek.
NAM
members reach out to the families and children in this isolated section
of the Navajo reservation in several ways.
In our annual mission trip we
share lives and stories with Montezuma Creek children and families in

activities, work projects and community dinners--and spend some time
touring the Southwest’s unique natural sites. We also support St.
Christopher’s in other ways, helping to expand its facilities and
supporting its ministry to families and its nurture of calls for native
clergy.
Our annual
mission trip is a unique experience. The
red rock landscape is different—and spectacular. The climate is
different. The people and the culture are different.
There is no cell phone signal. But
one thing is the same – God’s unconditional and sustaining love is
there. You encounter it in a small smile, or a hearty laugh, in a quiet
moment under the shade house, or in a child’s look of triumph after
successfully tossing a Frisbee.
