Daughters of the King
Purpose and Mission
The Daughters of the King is a national organization for women who are
communicants of the Episcopal Church, as well as the Anglican, Roman
Catholic, and Evangelical Lutheran churches. The Order was founded in 1885
by Margaret J. Franklin at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in
New York City.
The mission of the Order is the extension of Christ's Kingdom through
Prayer, Service, and Evangelism.
Chapter History and Information
The Sarah Ashton Stuart Chapter of Daughters of the King at
Christ
Church
was rededicated in 1999. It is a chapter of nearly 40 women who meet
together monthly for prayer, spiritual study, and fellowship.
Daughters of the King: Are You Called to Share Our Journey?
As Daughters of the King we are women striving to fulfill the promises of
our Baptismal Covenant. We promise to
pray, work, and give for the spread of Christ's Kingdom. Through membership
in the Order of the Daughters of the King we are:
·
Strengthened
through prayer
·
Helped to learn
through discussion and spiritual study
·
United and
supported in community with other Daughters.
Prayer is the foundation and central focus of our Order.
We exchange prayer requests in a regularly updated e-mail prayer
list. At our meetings, we pray for those requests and for requests placed in
the
Christ
Church
prayer box by parish members and visitors. If you would like to learn more
about Daughters of the King, please contact Sally Rittelmeyer, President, at
